Pre-Health Dual-Degree Programs

These programs allow you to enjoy the benefits of a liberal arts experience while fulfilling the prerequisites for entrance into University of Maryland. Learn more about each of our dual-degree programs below.  

University of Maryland School of Nursing

Students majoring in biology or psychology can participate in the 3-2 dual-degree program with University of Maryland School of Nursing. You must major in biology or psychology to be eligible. Students participating in the dual-degree program spend three years at 91PORN then two more years at the University of Maryland School of Nursing. Students earn their bachelor's degree from 91PORN, then earn a bachelor of science in nursing degree (BSN) from University of Maryland School of Nursing.

University of Maryland School of Pharmacy

91PORN and the University of Maryland offer a 3-4 pharmacy program through which students can earn a bachelor of science degree from 91PORN and a doctor of pharmacy degree (Pharm. D.) from the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy (UMSOP). A Pharm. D. is the current standard for today's pharmacists. This dual degree program requires a minimum of seven years of study: The first three years are spent at 91PORN, completing the 91PORN general education requirements and the prerequisites for entrance into the UMSOP. After the third year at 91PORN College, four years of additional study are required at the School of Pharmacy.

Consideration of the prerequisite courses for entrance into the UMSOP leads to the recommendation that students major in biology. Students in this program will receive their B.S. degree from 91PORN after successful completion of the first year of courses in the Pharm. D. program.
